Employment
We employ full-time and part-time personnel in positions that require various levels of education and training. Our departments include academic affairs, administration, communications and marketing, curatorial, development and membership, education, facilities, security, and special events.
Paid Internships
The Phillips’s paid internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students a chance to build their careers through a well-rounded experience. The Phillips is committed to providing students with the training and skills to establish credentials for a career in the arts.

The Phillips’ fellowship program is a comprehensive, yearlong program that includes hands-on experience, mentoring, and professional development.
Volunteer
The Phillips’s passionate and generous volunteers are an essential part of the museum. Volunteers greet and provide information to visitors and assist various departments.
Predoctoral Fellowships
The Phillips Collection and the University of Virginia host an annual Predoctoral Fellowship in Modern and Contemporary Art History that will support graduate-level, interdisciplinary research in American, European, or non-Western art and art history from approximately the 1750s to the present.
